Ladies Section

In 2021, the Okehampton Ladies Section, led by their Lady Captain, Jane Warren, celebrated it’s Centenary. The first recorded Lady Captain was Mrs Dora Milner; she was also the Club Captain in 1925.

Although a relatively small section, the ‘Lilac Ladies’, as they are known, have fielded teams in all of the women’s county competitions. Having enjoyed success in the Still Cup, President’s Trophy, the Sheelah Creasy Bowl and the Doris Willes-Little over the years.

Welcoming and inclusive, the section plays on Wednesdays but it is also possible to play stablefords, medals and in team games on Saturdays. There are plenty of opportunities to play in friendly fixtures with clubs in Devon and in Cornwall, both during the week and at the weekend. Mixed matches are regularly arranged both internally and with other clubs.
